UK Government urged to ban microbeads

The international coalition Beat the Microbead celebrates and welcomes the report by the Environmental Audit Committee (EAC) of the British Parliament on the environmental impact of microplastics (published 24th of August 2016).

France bans microbeads in cosmetics

Micro plastics in rinse off cosmetics will be banned in France as from January 2018. An amendment in the Biodiversity Law has been adopted in July 2016. The law acknowledges that other microplastics used in cosmetics are not banned, otherwise the cosmetics industry would be too much threatened.

Denmark calls to ban microplastics in personal care products

Esben Lunde Larsen, Denmark’s environment and food minister, urged the European Commission to introduce a Europe-wide ban on the use of microplastics in cosmetic products. Read the article.
